If you’ve not gathered by now, my name is Mayah. The reason you’ve spotted the Louis Vuitton monogram print in the canvas is because I have a slight (okay, huge) obsession with Louis Vuitton – he’s the only man in my life. Makes sense, Louis will never break my heart (my bank balance perhaps, but never my heart!).
I am a former magazine editor and now run various businesses. I run a PR and celebrity management agency. I organised the first official Nottingham Day and will be launching Nottingham Fashion Week soon. I am also the founder of UK’s National Motivation Day – which is 1st July (each year). I am now mainly based in Nottingham, however, travel widely for work. Work takes up a lot of my time and headspace but that’s how it is when you love what you do.
Away from work, I enjoy spending time and catching up with friends, often over coffee and a (large) piece of cake. I love shopping and my work wardrobe is full of colour. After all, business doesn’t have to be dull.
I am a huge believer of giving back and I always try to do my bit. Sadly, often via the easiest bit of setting up a direct debit to a charity and it gets taken out each month without much more from me. I have organised charity events and would like to be involved in that much more in the future. Although donating is great and very beneficial to the charity’s hard work, I feel it really helps to be more involved in the giving process. I have worked with various charities to be more hands on, where possible.
This blog is strictly a personal blog and not a work-related blog, where I promote clients etc. However, as work is such a huge part of what I’m about, there may be work-related posts. Most people see my business side more than my personal, this is a look at my personal side; the things I like to do and talk about. Twitter has provided me with that platform but sometimes 140 characters just aren’t enough! I am not looking for a book deal or a handbag to be named after me (but if Louis Vuitton wants to get in touch regarding anything, I am all ears).
Happy reading…
