Now that I have started blogging, I need some blogging tools. I may get an idea for a blog whilst on a tube, sitting in a park, at home in bed, virtually anywhere. So I am preparing to be prepared.
These are my main tools;
1. iPhone 4
After newly being converted to the iPhone, I am in love with it. I cannot get enough of it. It really IS as good as everyone said it would be. I don’t even mind leaving fingerprints on the screen, like I thought I would. I have downloaded the WordPress app, so I’m able to upload posts on the move. I am still learning new things about the iPhone; it’s just full of surprises.
2. BlackBerry
I still love my BlackBerry and have to admit it is easier for typing emails and blog posts. I couldn’t completely let it go, so I use the BlackBerry for work and iPhone for play. So once I have typed up a post, I can send it to the iPhone to upload!
3. MacBook
Again, I’m a new convert to the MacBook and I love it – the main thing I love is the design of it. But I have to admit, I have got Windows running on it. I am waiting for the right time to learn Apple’s language. I’m not against Apple, just know that it will delay my productivity until I learn how to use it properly. This is where I mainly upload blogs from and add photos to edit before posting. I don’t tend not to carry the MacBook around with me when out and about, so the other tools are useful for on-the-go posting.
4. Flip video camcorder.
This is such a great invention. I was sent this a year ago. I use it all the time and it’s always in my handbag. I mainly use it to take the office footage; we have our own series of The Office going on. I have a little tripod which I attach to it. As it records in HD, I have used it to record videos for clients and the results are pleasing. It’s so easy to use. Once you’re ready, you just insert it into your computer’s USB drive and upload videos in an instant. Easy to edit and it’s just so simple, so easy, which is the reason why I love it so.
5. Casio Exilim Camera
I was also sent this camera a year ago, and to be honest I don’t think I have used all of the functions. I use it to take photos; very occasionally do I use it to take videos. However, I can also press a button and it will locate just where I am in the world, right to the city. I did try that whilst on holiday in Morocco, when by the hills on the outskirts of Marrakech and it located my exact position. I am not techy, so no idea what spec it is, but I am always asked by friends if they can borrow it as it is a better quality than their camera. As I write this post, I am panicking as I have misplaced the it.
Little Black notebook
Although phones are great for jotting notes in the notepad section, I still feel there’s nothing like jotting down ideas in the traditional pen-to-paper style. I always carry a notebook with me for when I get a business idea. Since contemplating this blog, I have had lots of ideas for posts, so I got a separate book just dedicated to the blog.
These are my blogging tools, I’d be interested to know what yours are.
